Paracheirodon simulans

Green Neon (false blue neon, Paracheirodon simulans) is a miniature schooling freshwater fish of the characin family, the smallest member of the Paracheirodon genus (usually 1.5–2.5 cm). It inhabits black, acidic waters of the upper Rio Negro and Orinoco in nature. Peaceful, suitable for densely planted aquariums with soft, acidic water; only wild specimens are found in trade, sensitive to conditions. Life expectancy in an aquarium is 3–5 years.
