A dwarf algae-eating catfish from the family Loricariidae, reaching about 3.3 cm. Coloration is gray with a broad dark longitudinal stripe from snout to tail and a white belly. Peaceful schooling fish, safe for plants; in aquariums, it scrapes soft algae and biofilm from leaves, glass, and decorations. Requires a mature aquarium with clean, oxygen-rich water and regular supplemental plant-based feeding.
